Passenger Elevators

The passenger elevator is the unit a building is judged by. It is used every day by residents, staff and visitors, and its ride quality, waiting time and reliability shape how a property is remembered. Our passenger range is engineered around that reality: quiet operation, level stops and doors that open and close the same way on the ten-thousandth cycle as on the first.

Each unit is built around a gearless permanent-magnet traction machine driven by a variable-voltage, variable-frequency controller. The controller shapes acceleration and braking into a single continuous curve, so the car starts without a jolt and arrives without a bump. Compared with the older geared machines still common in Pakistan, a gearless drive draws noticeably less current, runs cooler and needs no gearbox oil changes.

We supply both machine-room and machine-room-less configurations. An MRL unit places the machine inside the top of the shaft, freeing the rooftop space a traditional machine room would occupy — valuable on tight urban plots in Lahore and Karachi where every square foot is costed. Where a building already has a machine room, or where a taller travel height calls for it, a conventional layout is used instead.

Every installation is specified for local conditions. An automatic rescue device brings the car to the nearest floor and opens the doors during a power failure, so passengers are never left waiting in a dark shaft during load shedding. Control panels are rated for continuous operation on a fluctuating 400 V three-phase supply, and cabin ventilation is sized for Pakistani summer temperatures.
